Opening scene, beginning of this episode, we see Violet already in the function hall, with all their guests and some relatives there; she right away sees Dahlia on her left, which makes her mad, then she sees Iris on her right, which makes her madder; wow, Violet is in a literal sandwich of anger and hate that she gets paranoid and assumes it is some kind of ambush? Well, projecting what she is capable of and has done is more like it. Violet does her usual threats and hateful words; luckily, Lily comes in before things get much worse, and she tries to storm off, but Aurora tries to stop her to no avail. Violet yells at her mother, and she reveals to her why she is so outraged by seeing Iris there, which she constantly refers to as a “Bastard Child.”
Next sequence in the same scene, the lawyers and Felino are with Julian; he is not content with the offer of 20 million pesos and insists on the whole 40 million pesos. He is insulted by their offer and insists Violet has a stake and the right to get what she truly deserves. Felino mockingly is impressed with the “undying love” Julian has for his wife, Violet, but Julian, being the person he is, sees right through the smoke and mirrors. He insists he wants the entire 40 million pesos and the franchise.
Next sequence within the same scene, we see Violet getting mad once more with Aurora pointing out that she does not love her because she awarded Crestmont to Lily.
Following new scene, we then see Dahlia opening an envelope from Lily with a check for 100 thousand pesos. She stares at it a bit then glances back to Lily, which warrants a response from her. Dahlia was elated to finally hold an amount that big, but she has an almost blank-like facial expression. Lily decides to put Dahlia in the marketing department because she sees potential in her and, basically, tells her not to worry about Violet and that her personality is the way it really is. It is interesting that Lily is showing a gentler, kinder, and more understanding side to Dahlia after everything that transpired earlier with Violet, and it is clear that it does not cloud her judgement when it comes to dealing with her newfound half-sister. Lily says some prophetic words to Dahlia in which she cites that there are still some decent people left in this world, referring to Dahlia and obviously herself. Plus, a warning about Dahlia’s boyfriend: she can’t let her guard down because she is a Chua. Clearly, the sins of her late father have left a haunting and chilling life lesson for Lily. She does not want Dahlia to experience the same fate her real mother (Carmen) experienced.

Next, we see Lily giving her speech, talking about the history of her late father’s foundation, which consists of its beginnings, vision, and lessons imparted to her by her late father, Leopoldo.

We see Dahlia watching from a distance. It is symbolic that she does not sit anywhere close to Lily but instead decided in better judgment to show proper respect by watching away from the other people present. The scene closes with Lily giving Dahlia an approving stare. Indeed, sometimes there are gestures that are more powerful than words. Let us see where this is headed for their growing cordial respect for each other.
Next scene, we see Dahlia holding hands with her boyfriend, Elvin, as they are outside the building, going to ride a taxi if they can find one that has change for a 100 thousand pesos, as jokingly Elvin said. Elvin, being a bit aloof or unaware of the significance of Dahlia’s beginning acceptance from Lily, does not really see the value of this crucial development for Dahlia. He questions if Lily really is a good person and has this misplaced or uninformed thought process when it comes to the rich, and he can’t be blamed for that, but Dahlia explains to him in a very subtle and non-demeaning way that Lily is a good person and that she only intends to work with Lily until she gets to pay back the one hundred thousand pesos that have been loaned to her or advanced, and after she has done that, she is out. She will no longer be with Lily and her company. Also, Dahlia clarifies that she belongs to the family side of Belinda, and that is her real family name.
After that in the succeeding scene, we see Lily and Redmond in their bedroom getting ready to sleep, but while Lily is brushing her hair, here is Redmond being the “dead weight” he is, or basically a prick of a husband to Lily at times, with his doubts about Lily’s judgement in immediately trusting and hiring Dahlia when, at the same time, she discovers the existence of another before unknown step-sister to her, Iris. Lily tries to enlighten Redmond about the differences in personalities between Dahlia and Iris that she herself has discovered on her own. And, this is enough for Redmond to make him think, as well.
We are then taken to the following important scene, flashback to 1984: young Carmen and young Aurora are both in the convenience store, doing some inventory of the items in her convenience store When suddenly Carmen experiences fatigue and weakness, young Aurora tries to help her out; within the same sequence, we see young Leopoldo, concerned for her wife’s worsening condition, comforting her while they lay in bed. He gently touches and caresses the belly of Carmen and tells their future baby not to inherit the temper or negative personality traits of her mother. Next in sequence, we see Carmen suffering in extreme pain during her pregnancy on a hospital bed. Already sensing she will not make it, she tells Leopoldo things that he must carry out and do once she passes away. These are Carmen’s final wishes for her husband, Leopoldo. Young Aurora and Young Felino hear them and are witnesses to the untimely passing of Carmen. A grief stricken Leopoldo returns alone to cry on the dead body of Carmen, screaming in anger, sadness and guilt. He has lost the love of his life. The predictions of the Feng Shui master they consulted years ago turned out to be true.
After that important but emotionally heavy scene, we are now back in the Crestmont building today, we see Felipe, Lily, and Aurora discussing the strategies of what they have done to appease Violet, but Aurora raises the biggest red flag in all this, which is Julian, (the husband and puppeteer of Violet.) The next matter that Lily does is about informing Aurora that she has already given the check to Dahlia. Aurora wonders why she had to tell her about that since she is the CEO of Crestmont and all the power is with her to make the decisions. Aurora gives her some pointed words to remember about her CEO position at Crestmont.
We are now in the house of Aurora for a change of scenery. We see one of the household members brining down a valuable display that looks to be made of jade or some other valuable natural material, and as she is carrying the valuable display item, she comes across an irate Violet is looking for her mother, Aurora, and at once the sight of the household help carrying one of her belongings gets her attention.
Violet questions the household help about what exactly she is doing with it. She informs Violet that her stepsister Iris gave her that order, obviously without mentioning it to her, to get rid of it since Iris is already residing in her old room. Which stuns Violet and causes her to go and find her mom, the noisy Violet finds her mom in the living room; she refers to Iris as the “Bastard Child” and is irate that she is already living in her room since she does not live there anymore.
The next thing they talk about is the 40 million pesos value of the franchise, which is a food subsidy (Chocolatier) of the Crestmont company that has been given to Violet. Now, she switches her anger to Iris this time for being allowed to sleep in her old room. Aurora gets upset with her constant angered mood and reminds her that she no longer lives here and Iris can stay in her house because she owns the house in the first place. This shuts the mouth of Violet for the time being, but unknown to Violet and Aurora, Iris was listening all along.
Shortly after, we see Iris packing her belongings as Aurora enters the old room of Violet. Aurora looks surprised, and before she could get a full explanation about why Iris wants to abruptly leave already, here comes the fuming and perpetually hot-headed Violet to make things much worse than they already are. Violet got into the face of Iris, hitting every below-the-belt thing she could say, and was as foul-mouthed as only she can be, literally pinning Aurora between her and Iris, and Aurora was stuck in the middle of it, but then, Iris fights back and speaks some truth to Violet, which almost made Violet surprised that Iris was not afraid her. Iris is feisty, tough and strong in her own right.
The next scene, we see Aurora check on Petersen in his room, who again is sleeping only to get awakened by her. “Man, this guy is always in sleep mode. You’ve got to stop with the vices with your friends.” The household help comes in, but is told not to leave them alone for the time being. Now, Aurora wonders why he is again asleep, and Petersen explains that he wants to stay longer with Aurora. The always understanding and accommodating Aurora explains to Petersen that he can’t keep running away from his problems and that he must learn to value his mother, because one day he will have a family of his own and only then will he understand how it must feel to be a mother. Aurora has a lot of wisdom-filled things to say to Petersen.
Next thing, he informs him that Iris is now going to be the one to stay in the room that Petersen has been preoccupying for the time being. Next sequence in the same scene, we see Aurora walking outside the front of her home with Petersen, towards the garden area, and she is pleasantly surprised to see Iris still in the compound. She introduces Petersen to Iris and informs him that she has just arrived from the US. Aurora instructs Petersen to go with Iris around the garden. Iris reminds him that likely they have the same age; they resume to talk and get to know her reason for being there; the question is thrown back to Petersen, and they both have something in common. True, “birds of the same feather flock together.” Iris and Petersen are becoming friends.
In the following scene, Petersen comes home. He abruptly walks in on Lily, Redmond, and Andrew having dinner, and being the problematic son that he is, he suddenly brings up the fact that Andrew got accepted into the university after passing the tryouts, much to the dismay of Lily, because it would get in the way of his studies, and she does not want to have two children who are wasting their lives doing nothing.
Next new scene, we see Lily doing some of her office work. Her secretary comes in and informs her that there are some rumors going around that the contractual workers they have are planning to go on a trick for violating a policy of the DOLE. Lily informs her secretary that she must call Felipe at once.In the last scene, Dahlia is with her best friends (Coreen and Benjo) having lunch at a carinderia. Her two friends are shocked at the revelation that she is an actual Chua, and they obviously get excited about it. Then, Dahlia clarifies her special working set-up with Lily and the Chuas. Dahlia gives them the inside information, or “911,” that she is simply waiting for the official contract to be sent to her so she can officially begin working with Crestmont under Lily. But, to her surprise, Coreen and Benjo had received an envelope, not knowing that it contained the contract offer to Dahlia, and they had placed it in the room of her ill stepmother, Belinda. Dahlia is caught off guard by this development, and without saying it, clearly, there was poor judgment on the part of Coreen and Benjo, despite them meaning well for their best friend. Afterwards, they rush to her stepmother’s room with a sleeping Elvin keeping her company, only for them to see Belinda as they enter the room. Belinda is seen holding the sealed envelope and is visibly upset, asking why Dahlia applied at Crestmont.
